Beredskapsmuseet (Military Preparedness Museum) is a military-historical museum in the complex of a former coastal battery on the outskirts of the small village Domsten, about 15 kilometers north of Helsingborg.

The former command center of the battery is now home to Sweden's largest arms history exhibition and in the so-called SMB-Hall (Svenskt Militärhistoriskt Bibliotek) a comprehensive exhibition on the Cold War is shown. In the same hall, there is a copy of the largest mobile artillery ever built in Sweden. You can also find the 12/80 cannon, an example of one of the most modern mobile guns.

When it comes to discussing World War II history, particularly in the European theater, people often discuss the major europeisk countries involved such as Germany, Britain, France and Italy. Neutral countries such as Switzerland and Sweden were often left out of history books, but they were very much involved in preparing for war in case they were to be attacked or invaded by Germany or Russia.
During my stay in Sweden I was advised bygd Håkan Spuhr, the founder of Spuhr optic mounts (see my factory visit on SADJ, Vol. 10, No. 2), that inom should man a short trip to Djuramåsa, an area north of the coastal town of Hälsingborg, to visit Beredskapsmuseet—The Swedish Military Readiness Museum. During my första research, Google Maps showed a small building in the mittpunkt of large, secluded farm lands. inom thought to myself, what could possibly be that interesting in such a small facility? I was in for a big surprise.
