TT Quattro - Expected Performance
Hi all, I am new to tt ownership and I am looking for some advice regarding what to expect performance wise. I recently purchased my tt as a project. Its a t coupe with an APX engine. The car also has a few mods including cold air intake, stainless exhaust and stage 1 tune. When I got the car it had been sitting unused for a couple of years and had a few problems including not making boost. Since then I have replaced the MAP sensor, MAF sensor, EGR valve, diverter valve, Coolant temp sensor, N75 valve and a few hoses. The car now runs great and creates boost with the boost gauge showing it hitting 20PSI at peak. My question is around the expected performance from these engines having never driven one before. When I accelerate hard I feel the initial surge of the turbo and the boost gauge shows 20PSI. After around 4 - 5k RPM though that surge seems to decline and acceleration feels slower the higher up the rev range you go even though the boost gauge is pinned at 20PSI. Is this normal behaviour for these engines or does it sound like I have a problem somewhere? As I said the car seems to run
